Preparing for Christmas at the Yorks

We are starting this blog to keep our family and friends updated on our family throughout the year. Since our kids were born, we've sent out pictures every couple of months for our family to see how the youngest child has grown through their first year. But we always want to share more and do it more often for those who are interested.

As we are preparing for Christmas, Jacob and Peter have started to participate in some of the traditions. They received an advent calendar from Uncle Jeff and Aunt Liz with felt nativity characters to add each day. It's pretty neat to see how proud Jacob is of himself when he finds the correct numbered pocket and places the piece in the nativity scene. He also likes to name the objects for other people which currently include Mary, Joseph, a star, and a cloud looking piece for the sky (at least that's what I told him it was).

As for Peter, although we've already decorated the 2 trees (the main tree and a little kids tree), he likes to pick up random toys and objects and place them on the branches as he sees fit. Right now the kids tree has an old name tag necklace that Peter found in my Bible study bag this afternoon. Here are some pictures of the boys decorating their tree.

And for how our 3rd baby is doing, he or she is starting to get a little active here and there. I am feeling much better than I did in the first trimester. We will have our 20 week ultrasound on Dec. 14th and will try to find out the sex, but more importantly we pray that everything looks healthy. We will use the blog to keep everyone posted.

Today, we also had our 2nd snowstorm this week. I'll add the picture we took of the boys opening the front door to see the snow outside. Looks like we'll be having a white Christmas around here!
