Adventures in Gingerbread House Construction

We decided to attempt a Gingerbread house with the kids. Mommy and Daddy should have read the instructions before announcing it was time to get to work. Three little kids don't like to hear the words "wait," especially not for at least 1-3 hours between steps! We eventually broke out the hot glue gun to quickly complete the initial construction phase and the kids went to work. Of course, more candy was consumed than was contributed to the decorating, but should we have expected anything less? Peter creatively added a snowman to the front "lawn" and a doorknob on the front door before calling it quits and Jacob decorated the "lights" on the roof. Leah contributed many slobbery pieces of candy and some finger swipes to the icing on the roof. In addition to the sugar rush, we took away some good lessons for what will hopefully be a fun new Christmas tradition!
