Celebrating the Fourth!

We had a fun Fourth of July at Brian's parents' house on White Bear Lake (just 10 minutes from our house). The boys have been watching the movie "Lilo and Stitch" a lot recently and were excited to learn that there was a surf board hiding in Grandma and Grandpa's garage (Isn't it fun to discover new and exciting things in your grandparents house?). It was so hilarious to hear Peter saying, " I surfing like Yiyo (Lilo) Mommy," over and over again. Leah enjoyed her first fourth with her other two new cousins, also born in the last two months (one of which was just born last Sunday and out and about at 5 days old . . . hey, this holiday is a fun tradition in our family and you can't miss it!). We usually have a lot more family in town visiting from Chicago, Milwaukee or even L.A., but this year was a bit more slow paced. I think Grandma and Grandpa York were ready for a break after last year's July 4th celebration coincided with our York Family Reunion (a.k.a. Summer Daze) with nearly 65 people in attendance (17 of which were under the age of 12). So this year we celebrated our nation's independence by enjoying the beauty of a great Minnesota lake with our wonderful Minnesota family! We hope you all had a great holiday too!
Happy 4th of July!

Leah's First Fourth of July.

Daddy with the boys "surfing" in White Bear Lake while Mommy and Leah are on the boat in the background enjoying the shade with the other babies.

Jacob was really good at balancing on the board.
Now we just need some "gnarly waves" on the lake for him to try out.

Peter and Jacob paddling out to sea . . . umm . . . lake?
See ya later mom and dad. We're off to find adventure!
