Update on Leah

Leah's surgery was moved up to yesterday and I am happy to report that it seems we have completely different baby than the one we've had for the last 3 months. She already seems happier and more comfortable. She's sleeping much better, nursing much better, and isn't as bothered by the general decibel level of the boys' playing anymore (before she would scream if they were getting too wound up, which happens frequently, as you can imagine).

The surgeon said they drained a ton of fluid from her ears and said that the runny nose she'd just developed in the last couple of days was a sinus infection too. I'm amazed that after all the anitibiotics she has been on that she was developing a new infection! It was definitely time to have the tubes put in and I'm so glad that our doctor and the ENT surgeon were so accomodating in getting it taken care of as soon as possible. So now she's on ear drops to help evaporate any recurring fluid from her ears and an oral antibiotic for the sinus infection.

We're on the mend and couldn't be happier!
