Our Monopoly Tycoon

It all started with the Monopoly game at McDonald's. At first Jacob thought the game was played by buying drinks at McDonald's. Then, Daddy showed him you could enter the codes from the game pieces online at McDonald's.com to try to win again. Finally, we showed him we had the actual board game and he could play anytime, without going to McDonald's. Now he is obsessed and wants to play all the time. We started off playing with modified rules and no money. Once he realized you get to go again if you roll doubles, we had to address some cheating issues with the dice. We explained that another rule was if you throw doubles three times, you go to jail. That was understood pretty quickly! Now we have advanced to playing with money and he is starting to understand the concept of having a limited supply of money and the decision making that comes with buying property and paying rent. Awesome . . . maybe he'll stop asking me for everything in the toy aisle at Target! Then again, hopefully he won't think that monopoly money works in the real world. Don't we all, Jacob!
