Halloween 2009

It was nice that Halloween fell on a Saturday this year because we didn't have to start our holiday festivities later in the evening after Brian got home from work. We stopped by a couple of our neighbor's homes to say hi and "trick or treat" before heading to hang with the York cousins at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We had Jack O'Lantern shaped pizzas for dinner and then headed out for trick or treating with all the kiddos. Our destination was good family friends, the Nichols', who live at the end of the road, so they could see the kids all dressed up, but we stopped by a handful of houses on the way there and back. It was the perfect amount of trick or treating before freezing. Although there were snow flurries earlier that morning, we have yet to have a Halloween like the one from Brian's childhood in MN that lives on in infamy where they trick or treated in 2 feet of snow! It was still pretty cold. We had lots of fun treats and way too much candy for three little kiddos to eat all on their own so fortunately Mom and Dad get to reap the benefits for one more year until they eventually catch on.

Peter's cool pirate hair hat. He actually really liked wearing it.

Do chickens really wear mittens? . . . for trick or treating in chilly Minnesota, they do!
