24 Hour Vacation

Brian had some hotel points that were about to expire so we decided to drive up to Duluth, MN (a little over two hour drive north of us) and spend the night at a hotel and do some exploring. The boys were so excited to stay at a hotel. They loved the ice bucket, the mini fridge, the swimming pool, and the elevator. Gotta love the simple things that entertain kids. Duluth is situated right on Lake Superior and our hotel was right by the lake in the Canal Park District. As we were out finding dinner we discovered a park area right on the lake. There was a lighthouse, an Army Corps of Engineering Maritime Musuem, a huge lift bridge across the canal, and an overall spectacular view of Lake Superior. The boys had a blast running around and enjoying the last official weekend of summer. It was a gorgeous night and we're glad we found a new place to have a mini vacation to get away if and when we need it.

Our room key said "Welcome to Minnesota," a common phrase in the York Family when people come to visit, come back from a trip, or for a new baby's first greeting at the hospital!

Peter Loves Moose!

Ahoy, Matey! Jacob clearly has the spyglass all wrong.

Daddy Pack Mule.

Peter and Jacob loved the huge rocks by the shore. Peter says cheese while Jacob examines his wounds from rock climbing.
