As Seen on TV Suckers

Since downsizing our t.v. options considerably by getting rid of cable a few months ago, the boys discovered an all cartoon station called qubo that comes in on the antenna. I have always preferred PBS kids' programming specifically because there are few very commercials, but the boys don't care about that. Well, qubo only has infomercials that are constantly selling things for 19.99 with 1-888 phone numbers. and Jacob now knows the sales pitches for such items as the Snuggie and Cash for Gold. I think they like qubo over PBS kids because of these "neat" commercials

So one of the things that I thought seemed pretty neat is the Perfect Brownie Pan. It is a brownie pan that has an insert that creates brownie squares already cut for you. It also has a pop up "instant serving tray" and you can also use it for Rice Krispie Treats too. But my favorite part about it was that it creates crisp edges for every brownie square. As an "edge lover," I secretly wanted to add this neat gadget to my kitchen tools, but I already had a perfectly good baking pan for brownies and vowed not to give in to the constant request from the boys' for "perfect brownies." But that was me.

Once daddy got wind of it, it was a different story. Knowing my preference for brownie edges coupled with a week of REALLy long nights at work last week, we were all pleasantly surprised to return home from preschool pick-up on Friday to see the Perfect Brownie Pan box in front of the door as we came in! Jacob and Peter were SO excited. Brian had taken Friday off and had been at the doctor's office for a check-up and went by Walgreens on the way home. Lo and behold, Walgreens is the go-to place for any of your "As Seen on TV" needs!

The pictures below are from our first batch. We are currently working on our third batch in less than a week of owning the Perfect Brownie Pan! So even though we fell for the pitch, we have enjoyed making and eating "perfect brownies" (according to Jacob and Peter) and I thought I'd share our new toy. Thanks Daddy for indulging us!

You're only "suckers" if you bought something you will never use! Let me know if you ever find a pan that only cooks the soft middle pieces... you can keep your edges! :)
